Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Provide exceptional care to a variety of animals, addressing both routine medical needs and critical care situations. You'll be the primary advocate for our patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their visits.
  • Medical Support: Perform essential medical procedures such as venipuncture (blood draws), intravenous catheter placement, and assist in diagnostic testing. Your attention to detail ensures accurate sample collection and timely results.
  • Anesthesia & Surgery: Assist in anesthesia administration, patient intubation, and monitoring throughout surgical procedures. Your expertise ensures patient safety and comfort during every phase of surgery.
  • Clinical Monitoring: Use advanced equipment to track vital signs during surgery and emergency procedures, responding quickly to any changes in patient condition.
  • Client Education & Communication: Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing clear and compassionate communication about their pet’s progress, treatment plans, and aftercare instructions. You will be their source of reassurance during challenging times.
  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside a talented team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure the highest standards of care. Your collaborative approach will help streamline the patient care process, ensuring optimal outcomes.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of veterinary technician experience in a clinical setting (general practice or emergency care). Strong experience with high-acuity cases, trauma care, and urgent medical interventions is highly valued.
  • Certification: Certification as a Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, CVT) is preferred, though not required. We welcome candidates with equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Technical Proficiency: You should be comfortable and efficient in performing anesthesia administration, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and other advanced veterinary procedures.
  • Critical Thinking: Experience in emergency or critical care environments is a plus. The ability to remain calm and assess patient conditions accurately under pressure is essential.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both with clients and team members, to provide clear, compassionate care instructions and updates.
  • Team Player: You will thrive in a collaborative environment, working together with others to achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients.
  • Compassionate Nature: A genuine passion for animal welfare and the ability to remain calm, caring, and reassuring, especially in challenging or emotionally charged situations.
